Renovations

Alterations must not affect the building or neighbours regarding electricity, ventilation or plumbing, nor the apartment’s façade, doors or windows.

The apartment owner must have valid home insurance with liability cover. Contractors must have contractor’s liability insurance covering third-party damage.

Noisy work: weekdays 08:00–17:00, weekends 11:00–17:00, and preferably in agreement with affected neighbours. Do the noisiest work during the day. Inform tradespeople of the hours and notify neighbours.

The owner removes construction waste — it must not be left in the recycling room, stairwells or entrances. Clean outdoor areas and stairwells after the work. Costs from breaches will be reclaimed. The owner is responsible for obtaining relevant information.

Fans connected to the building ventilation must follow Alliance Lägenhet (not Villa) standard for flats with a central fan. The wrong fan damages the ventilation system.

Fixed balcony installations (awnings, glazing, electrical work, etc.) need board approval first.

Form: Request for permission to alter the apartment

Drawings are available in the Nabo portal.

If your apartment still has its original kitchen or other 1950s details, do not throw them away — keeping original character is popular and compatible with renovation.

If you do not want the original details, try selling them or ask Nabo whether the association can take or pass them on.
